Family Maintenance Enforcement Program
Monitors and enforces maintenance orders and agreements for child and spousal support

Family Justice Counsellors
Based out of Family Justice Centres, counsellors are specially trained to help families with child custody, guardianship, access and support issues.

Legal Advocacy Project
Provides legal assistance to low-income immigrants and refugees in immigration law and poverty law issues. Interpreters available.

Legal Services Society
Provides legal aid in BC, including representation by a lawyer, legal advice and legal information. Priority given to people with low incomes.

Law Students’ Legal Advice Program
Non-profit society run by UBC law students. Provide free advice and representation to clients who would otherwise be unable to afford legal assistance.

Lawyer Referral Service
Provides the name and number of a lawyer who will give a half-hour interview and advise whether client had a legal problem.

People’s Law School
The People’s Law School exists to help you learn about your rights and responsibilities under the law. They make special efforts to serve people who may have particular legal education needs, including seniors, workers, students, immigrants, parents and poor people.

Pro Bono Lawyer Consultant Program
Provides free half hour consultations with a lawyer to low-income people who can’t afford a lawyer or obtain legal aid.
