2018 Budget Consultation

The Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services is conducting its annual consultations on the upcoming budget.

The Committee will open registration for the Budget 2018 Consultation process on Thursday, September 21 at 9:00 a.m. British Columbians are invited to provide input into the 2018 provincial budget by presenting at a public hearing, making a written, audio or video submission, or completing an online survey.

This year, individuals and organizations interested in reserving a presentation time, making a written, audio or video submission, or completing the online survey, will have the option of using the Parliamentary Committee’s new consultation portal. A link to the portal is available on the Committee’s website at  http://www.leg.bc.ca/cmt/finance.

Public hearings will be held in the following locations:

  • Vancouver, Monday, Sept. 25
  • Victoria,  Monday, Oct. 2
  • Surrey, Friday, Oct. 6
  • Richmond, Friday, Oct. 6
  • Prince George, Tuesday, Oct. 10
  • Williams Lake, Wednesday, Oct. 11
  • Castlegar, Wednesday, Oct. 11
  • Cranbrook, Thursday, Oct. 12
  • Kamloops, Thursday, Oct. 12
  • Kelowna, Friday, Oct. 12
  • Nanaimo, Friday, Oct. 13

Video/teleconference opportunities are available for the following communities on Wednesday, October 4:

  • Fort St. John
  • Dawson Creek
  • Terrace
  • Smithers

The deadline for all public input is Monday, October 16.
