On May 3, 2016 Selina Robinson introduced her Private Members’ Bill, the Distressed Animal Act, 2016. A bill she first proposed last year, it would empower bylaw enforcement officers to rescue animals trapped in hot vehicles as soon as there are signs they are at risk.  If enacted, this legislation would also make it illegal to transport animals without providing adequate ventilation.
